Alopecia affects everyone, young and old, including children. We know of children as young as 3 years old who suffer from Alopecia. Whatever your age, it can be a devastating experience, especially if you are a parent.
GOOD NEWS – If you have a child suffering from Alopecia and you are considering purchasing wig, we have partnered with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and the Australian Alopecia Areata Foundation in their Wigs for Kids program. You or your child may be eligble for a $400 grant towards the purchase of a new wig.
Application Criteria: Application form
- The amount awarded is a total of $400.00 inclusive of GST.
- A child for the purpose of this program is a person of 17 years or under.
- To help care for the wig the amount granted can include the purchase of a wig stand, hair brush, speciality shampoos and conditioners, as well as the cost of the wig or part thereof with the cost of the wig
- Transitions Hair is a certified wig provider for the AAAF Wigs for Kids program.
- The successful applicant will receive a voucher to present to Transitions Hair on collection of the wig. Transitions Hair will invoice AAAF directly quoting the voucher reference number.
