Hair Growth After Chemotherapy (Video)

Hi Everyone,

I came across this video this morning of a lady who documents her hair growth after chemotherapy. I found it to be an encouraging video with good tips from her life’s experience of battling breast cancer. The good news is, cancer can be beaten and your hair will regrow after chemotherapy treatment (hair loss is not permanent).

When your hair does regrow, it might be helpful to be aware that it might be different initially from before. People report that their hair has grown back darker, curly hair has become straight and previously straight hair has become curly hair. We aren’t sure why this happens, only that it does.

If you or a loved one are about to embark upon a course of chemotherapy and the doctor (or patient care nurse) has suggested your hair may fall out, as hard as it is to say it – it probably will. Hair loss will endure for a period of the treatment (often several months) and then you must allow time for the hair to regrow, another several months. To help you and your loved one’s through this time, you want to stay looking your best – natural looking wig can be a great help. Our clients often remark how friends and nurses didn’t realise they were using one. We recommend that you would take a look at our Follea “Aero” wigs. They are made from Genuine European Hair and come in a range of beautiful colours. They are affordable (but more expensive than synthetic hair wigs), comfortable, cool and light to wear. They even come with a lace front to create a natural hair line.
