Will the transplanted hair grow additional hairs and spread across my scalp – kind of like grass; you move it from one spot to another and it grows and spreads?
Transplanted hairs do not grow additional hairs. There is no net gain of hair, only a re-distributing of the hair you currently have – potentially there could be some hair loss through trauma caused to the hair. If you don’t have enough donor hair other forms of hair replacement may be more suitable.
After the procedure, how long will it take to have my hair back the way I like it?
The transplanted hair is cut very short for the procedure. After it is implanted into its new location, the hair follicle will remain whilst the skin heals. After that, it will fall out. In a couple of months the hair will begin to grow again. As such, it may take up to 9 months for the hair to grow into an “adult stage” hair. To speed up this process, we advise you to use our Hair Laser Therapy for rapid regrowth of new hair. Experience suggests that it will speed recovery time and regrowth time by 100%, allowing you to have the hair you want sooner.
Can one of my family members donate their hair to me (like an organ) because I have so little good hair and they have so much?
Sorry, we wish they could. Hair cannot be transplanted from one person to another.
Does it matter which surgeon performs the procedure because it is fairly straight forward?
Yes is does matter which surgeon you use. The key to all hair transplants is the skill and artistry of the hair replacement surgeon. Not all surgeons are artists, but your front hair line is a masterpiece waiting to be created – a permanent one, too! The correct orientation and direction of the hair is critical to a successful and aesthetically pleasing result. That is why we use Australia’s only “Gold Standard” hair transplant surgeon, a surgeon who specializes in hair transplants alone – if transplants are all you do, you get very good at it! Remember, transplants are permanent; therefore, you want to get it right the first time.
